About Us

Lighthouse is a private family centre that has been operating since 1980. Throughout that time, we have had the privilege to nurture hundreds of young children into confident and eager learners.

Lighthouse learning centre is a fun, energetic and loving childcare centre that has a strong focus on education. We are committed to the holistic development of our children and have created exceptional programs for the enrichment of their body AND minds. Our highly experienced, dedicated and loving teaching team takes every opportunity to expand on children’s interests and this is complimented by our uniquely laid out, spacious indoor and outdoor settings.

Love & Belonging
It is only when a child feels loved and secure that he/she will then develop the confidence to explore and learn. Our teachers are hand-picked for their loving nature and will actively assist your child in making friends and engaging in group activities.

Teacher : Child Ratio
We have the best ratio in the industry with 1 teacher to between 6 and 8 children. This extremely high ratio allows our teachers to provide individual education and care to your child.

Family Participation
We believe that family is the most important part of our Lighthouse Community. Our Open Door Policy welcomes parents/guardians to freely discuss anything and everything with any of our staff at any time. You are also encouraged to participate in our daily activities and outings. In short, we work very closely with our parents/guardians to achieve the best outcome for our children.

Children’s Ages and Opening Hours
We cater for children between 0 and 5 years of age. We open from 7:30 to 5:30 Mondays to Fridays and are closed for all statutory holidays.

Settling your child
To ensure a smooth transition, we dedicate one primary care giver to your child for at least the first 2 weeks if under 2 1/2 years old, and 1 week if over 2 1/2 years old. This arrangement allows a special bond and trust to be created between the child and the teacher. We also have a buddy system where an older child will be “teamed up” and encouraged to be the “guide” This will help your child to develop a sense of belonging and form friendships with peers.
Before your child starts at the Lighthouse, we encourage you to come for 2 or more visits. We will also ask you to fill in a detailed information sheet about your child’s interests, likes, dislikes etc. This information will be distributed to all teachers before the first day.
We invite you to find out more about our philosophy, read our ERO reviews, meet some of our wonderful teachers , view some testimonials from our existing parents or book a tour with us and feel the difference for yourself today.
