Testimonials

This beautiful piece was created by one of our lovely families as a special gift when their daughter started school. They wanted to capture the essence of who we are at the Lighthouse. We think the Parkin family have done a fantastic job, and we are proud to have it displayed in our foyer for all to see.

We are so grateful to the Parkin family for this thoughtful gesture!

We have 2 children at Lighthouse currently in the Tūī room who both started their journey at 6 months old. I am a hands on Mum and was nervous to leave them. However, the staff blew my expectations out of the park with their dedication to nurture each child emotionally, and physically.

I am often impressed by what my children come home having learnt like songs, nutritious food they’ve eaten, new words, and tricks as they test their bodies limits.

But my favourite part about The Lighthouse is that when I pick my kids up each afternoon, the teachers have such joy in their eyes as they tell me stories about their day, and each morning before I drop them off my children are saying the teachers names as they are excited to be there. Love that we have a family away from home.

As parents, finding the right daycare for our kids was incredibly important to us, and we’re so thankful we found Lighthouse Preschool. The staff are dedicated, compassionate, and truly invested in the well-being and development of every child. Our little ones feel safe, loved, and excited to go every day, and we’ve noticed such growth in their social skills, creativity, and independence. We especially appreciate the activities that are thoughtfully designed to prepare our kids for school, from early learning concepts to building confidence and teamwork. The small, nurturing environment allows for personalised attention, and we love the balanced approach to learning and play. If you’re looking for a daycare where your child can thrive in a caring and supportive atmosphere, while also getting a head start on their education, we highly recommend Lighthouse Preschool. It’s been the perfect choice for our family.

I would like to share our journey with our time at the Lighthouse. Harry was enrolled there from the age of 2. From Day 1 there was always a lovely welcome, an interesting and inviting environment, and caring team members. Harry settled so easily and was always happy when I went to collect him on my way home from work.

The playground was fun, nutritious morning and afternoon teas and lunches were provided. When the children were nearly school age, they were then encouraged to bring a packed lunch in order to prepare them for their time at school. Harry made special friendships which still remain today.

After a memorable graduation he left to start his next chapter as a schoolboy. Harry’s connection to the Lighthouse is so special that he at the age of 9, pops in to see new and familiar faces and just spend a little bit of time in a place where he was so happy.

I will always be so grateful for the wonderful experience Harry, and I had. A very precious time of his early life.

My first child started attending this Centre in 2013. I personally had visited a couple other Centres in the area and this one just gave me good vibes and had some great positives for me, and as they say you just have to ‘trust your gut’. The selling points for me were the fact that there was a lot of space, inside and out, for the children to play in various areas. The younger children could see the older children whilst still playing within their own areas.

There was a kitchen with its own cook providing nutritious meals for the children – this meant no need for me to pack a lunchbox which is a time saver for working parents in the mornings.

The Centre has a great range in terms of opening hours. The best of all is the undercover, off road, drop off area. Space for 6 cars undercover is a true lifesaver when its raining and you need to off load children. This is safe and dry and so handy. I then went on to have 3 more children so all four of my children have since attended this Centre with the youngest graduating in 2023.

I have seen the Centre be transformed into the place it is today which is the best it’s been, with a minimal staff turnover. The staff have the children’s best interests at heart and do their best to help them learn so many things with a genuine caring and friendly nature. The owners are lovely local ladies, which I think is important as there is nothing better than keeping it local.

All four of my children made great friends at this childcare Centre, and it great to see a lot of them move on to local schools and still get to see each other.

This is such a great Centre. I truly couldn’t commend it highly enough.
